A dead blog !?!?!?

This blog seems dead for months. Friends have requested me for updates. Haha!

Let's be honest. I shall not be kidding with myself. I am kinda lost for words.

Upon writing this entry, I have been staring blankly at the screen. Inspirations and thoughts just can't seem to flow out of my mind.

I guess I am mentally drained.

This blog is not gonna be dead. Nope, it will not.

But I guess it will be some time before I am back for blogging.

Egoism v Esteem, Reality v Dream

It has been four months since I last dropped an entry.

Somehow, I have lost the inspiration to blog. Perhaps, I didn’t even have one to begin with.

Had a meet up with the boys last week and had an interesting discussion between egoism and esteem. I shall not probe into details with that. Mates sinces 13, they have been an integral part of my growing up life. I am glad that our years of friendships is still going on. Among the four of us, I was singled out as the one in the group that has changed the most and one who have a higher level of egoism. Haha… well, I beg to differ!

We realised lotsa of our friends have changed throughout the years. Entering into the next phase of life, it is naturally evident that people do changed. Some are married, some are striving to carve out their own career path. There are others who are still pursuing their education either oversees or locally. It was indeed frightening that time passed by that quickly.

I am an avid fan of taking lone bus ride. That week, it was arguably the longest bus journey in my life from town. It was neither the influence of the alcohol effects nor the sleepy wet weather condition. Nope, it was not. Flashes of the past started to daunt me.

I regret that moment.

What I wanna say…egoism and esteem do not varies inversely with each other. To me, there is no or thin difference between egoism and esteem. Life is a game of roulette. What we harboured and pursue in real life might just be a dream after all.

My life is in a mess.

(From wikipedia)

Self esteem: beliefs and emotion that reflects a person’s overall evaluation or appraisal of his own worth

Egoism: an excessive or exaggerated sense of self importance

Career, Friendships and Relationships (CFR)

This entry might come a little bit late.

Taking a break from the hectic mugging, I decided to pen this entry.

The departure of DR (CPT) Allan Ooi was a shock to many. He has both look and brain and is the envy of many. My mates had done medical duty with him and told me he was a raving dude. I chanced upon his last mail (speculating online), read it and greatly empathize with him.

With due respect, I am not gonna comment much about him. Indeed, career, friendships and relationship (CFR) meant a lot to him.

Well, many peeps had been devoting their lives slogging after the famous 5Cs (Cash, Condo, Car, Credit Cards and ….) in this socially defined society. It is saddening to see small group of such individuals chasing these goals thus neglecting the CFR factors. Before they start realizing their loss, it is too late. We can’t really fault them. The society we live in shapes the thoughts and perception of every individual. When a respected figure from your government come out saying ‘a graduates should marry a graduate, it spells out how practical our society is. I am totally gutted and disappointed.

One should not be deemed successful if one fails to handle well in the (CFR) aspects. I dun know. This is just my thinking. Perhaps, I am still living in my own fantasy world. I am not saying I am not interested in the 5Cs. I guess I am not duly concerned about it.

I don’t know what lies ahead of me in years to come. I just hope and aspire to have a promising career.

As for now, I can gladly say I am contented with my life. I had my fair share of fun with my best mates. I am fortunate to be blessed with a bunch of friends to confide in when I encountered problems and setbacks in life.

Do fairytale ending exists?

I am not sure. I hope though. Fate is for those too weak to determine their own destiny.

Twenty- Five things about me

"Once you’ve been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose 25 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. If I tagged you, it’s because I want to know more about you, or I had the honour of being tagged by you in another note!"

It's a really long list, so here goes.

1) I love blogging. Blogging is a good way to convey one’s thoughts and emotions. Hence, I decided to jot down e ‘twenty five’ entry here.

2) I am a soccer fanatics and have a liking for Newcastle United at the age of ten. My Primary school teacher once told my dad I could have gotten better grades if I play less soccer in school and stopped staying up late to watch soccer at night.

3) My childhood favourite game was using ‘dried coconut’ as a form of ball and had a kickabout session with my pri mates.

4) During my pri days, I had a misunderstanding with my mates. They intended to forgive me only if I passed my fitness test (I guess most kids behave in this childish way). Luckily I cleared! It was a bit lame though. Haha

5) My ‘best’ friend once plays a ‘classic’ joke on me during our secondary years. I ended up ignoring him for a month. Perhaps this incident strengthened our friendship even more closer. I had my best fun with him!

6) I longed for a primary and secondary school class gathering. I wanna catch long lost times with them and find out how the rest are faring. But I guess it is not possible.

7) I studied chemical engineering during my poly years. If I could turn back the clock, I would rather take a business related course or opt for the junior colleges option. Welll, that’s life!

8) Poly days was fun. Joined the Primers club and had numerous outdoor activities. I guess it would be even better if I had attempt other sports and activities as well. Well, no regrets in life!

9) Is currently studying in SIM undertaking the UOL Bsc in Business.

10) Joined the student council. Initially, I were the least enthusiatic among my group of friends joining it as I have my doubts about the council. I am surprised that I am the only one among them who is still in the council today. Well, there are bound to have surprises in life!

11) My family members are my precious. One person whom I respect and hold her in high esteem is my Aunty. I guess I won’t be where I am today without her guidance and care.

12) I love travelling. Went to Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, the States, Canada and several asean countries. Nevertheless, I had my most ENJOYABLE experience in Taiwan (www.ilovetaipeimeimei.blogspot.com).

13) I am a food fanatics. Having the 炸鸡派 on one hand and the taiwanese milk tea on the other hand under the chilling weather was one of the best experience I ever had!

14) New Year Countdown Party 2006 was a memorable one. With the- icy cold weather, I shed a tear or two. I am glad that my frens didn’t notice it. Haha.

15) I intended to go back there again to reminiscencse the past preferably this year!

16) I love Bus stops. I have my best memories there.

17) I enjoy taking lone journey bus ride home late at night. I guess it is the only time when I can have deep thoughts and reflect on myself.

18) I believe one should show sincerity inhandling friendships and relationships. Does true friends really exist?

19) I reckon I am a failed product of the education system. I am slightly prejudiced against e eurasians and caucausians. (Well, I think they don’t fancy us too) Once, I had a racism encounter in Canada and was labelled a ‘ fucking JAP’.I took it as a compliment though! Haha

20) I am glad to be a chinese and is proud of our culture and traditions.

21) Had my fair share of fun in drinking and partying for the past years. I guess it is time I keep this activities to the minumum. I promise!

22) This little island holds little memories for me. I wanna try my luck working oversees if my commitments permit me.

23) Some labelled me as a metrosexual. A few have mistook me as gay! Well, I am not.  I wish, I wish… to have a honeyed mouth.

24) Exam is coming in MAY!!!Hopefully, I am better prepared this time round.

25)Well, that is all about me! I decided to blog it here to spare my friends the agony of jotting down 25 things about themselves. Haha

CNY Entry

Last Fri was the beginning of a long break from school. Persuaded Kel to go Blue Dolphin but ended up in Zouk with his usual khakis. It was supposed to be a night of chilling session. Had ‘hot and sticky’ liquor, beer and red wine for the night. Kel was a far better drinker. He had 2 AKs, bacarrdi, beer and red wine. He proudly proclaimed that no one could ever make him drunk again! Haha, it was only two months back that I last saw him doing acts of our local state symbol, the merlion!!!

The dance floor was immensely packed with peeps. One incident left an impression on me. Haha! Two local girls were grooving to the tunes of the music. Minutes later, two Caucasians came over and talked to them. Seconds later, they were embroiled in sexy dance. Well, they were no handsome dudes and do not look better than our average local guys. To be exact, they resembled the look of an ape, small eyes with hairy facial features. Well, that‘s life! I am neither a racist nor having any sour grapes. In fact, I dun really envy them. No offence, I guess I do have slight prejudice against Caucasians. Anyway, I doubt they really hold us peeps in regard too. It is a fact!

The impact of global economic downturn could be severely felt this year. The lax regulation of the western countries banking system has once again thrown the world into an economic turmoil. This coming Chinese New Year celebration seems quiet and peaceful. There were no traditional lion dance performances and popping of firecrackers. The atmosphere was not as terrific as compared to the past few years. Anyway, I am not a fan of celebrating festive seasons in this island. Haha!

Nevertheless, it’s not going to dampen my mood on this festive. This festive is the only time where all family members could come together to have a good meal as well as catching up times with old friends, buddies and mates. I gonna enjoy this little break before commencing my hectic preparation for prelims and final exams which were scheduled in May.

GONG XI FA CAI!!!
